Girl injured in collision with car in Ribbleton

A seven-year-old girl remains in hospital after a collision with a car in Preston.

The collision happened around 5.05pm on Wednesday in Sellers Street, close to the junction with Dodgeson Road, Ribbleton.

Police say a Renault Laguna car was involved and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

The girl was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a head injury and later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she is reported to be making a good recovery and suffered only minor injuries.

PS 2856 Dave Hurst of the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone who either witnessed the incident or were in the vicinity at the time to come forward to help us establish exactly how the collision came to occur.”
