Toddler injured in collision with car in Deepdale

A two year old boy has been taken to hospital after a collision in Deepdale.

Preston Police had closed the junction of St Phillips Road and Deepdale Rod where it joins St Georges Road.

They were called at 1.40pm on Wednesday by the North West Ambulance Service.

A boy, thought to be aged two, was involved in a collision with a green Fiat Punto car.

He has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital and the road has now reopened as of 3.37pm.

The boy is described as being in a serious condition and has now been flown to Manchester Childrens’ Hospital.

Sgt Malcolm Bell, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This incident involved a young child who has received some serious injuries. I would appeal to anyone who saw the incident or who has any information to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 0703 of today, August 5th.

Preston Bus diverested its 88A, 88C and number 14 service while the road was shut off.
