Girl in critical condition in hospital after Preston road collision

A six-year-old girl remains in a critical condition in hospital after a collision with a car in Preston.

The incident happened at 5.50pm on Friday in Christ Church Road, off Bow Lane.

The girl is said to have serious injuries after a collision involving a Ford Fiesta. She has been transferred to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

Preston Police closed the road for two hours while an investigation was launched into the collision.

Sgt Malcolm Bell, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has caused serious injuries to this little girl and I would appeal for any witnesses to get in touch with us.”

This is the second child hurt in a collision this week after a boy was taken to hospital in Manchester after a collision in Deepdale on Wednesday.
