Want to know more about Fishergate Hill and the character which makes it special?
AdvertisementPreston City Council is reviewing the Conservation Area applied to the road leading up to the city centre and the streets around it.
A consultation has been launched for residents views about the area.
The Gujarati Hindu Centre in South Meadow Lane will play host to a conservation officer from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 25 August who can answer questions.
Cabinet member for planning and regulation, Councillor John Swindells, said: “The idea behind the consultation is to involve the community in decisions about the management and understanding of their historic environment.
“The character of any conservation area is rarely static and it is often a challenge to manage change in ways that maintain the areas’ special qualities. It is important that good advice and guidance is set out in a character appraisal to help those who live, work and invest in the area.”
