A man was punched in the face and had his mobile phone stolen as he made his way through Avenham Park in the middle of the night.
AdvertisementPreston Police are appealing for information after a 23 year old man was attacked, along with a friend, in the city park.
The incident happened around 3am on Saturday 11 July as the victim and his friend made their way through Avenham park.
They were approached by three men who punched them both.
A mobile phone was taken and the victim sustained fractures to his face and suffered a small bleed on the brain. He has been discharged from hospital.
DC Rob Costigan of Preston CID said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two friends who were making their way home after a night out.
“Thankfully the man is recovering from his injuries and there are no adverse effects. We are trying to trace the men responsible for the attack and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with any information about what happened to contact us.”
