Lea car crash: Two Ribbleton men named as those who died

Two people who died in a car crash in Lea have been named as Anthony Butler and Jack Hamilton.


Both men are from the Ribbleton area of Preston. Anthony who was driving the car is 25 and Jack is 24.

The crash happened in Sidgreaves Lane in Lea at 4pm on Monday 29 June.

A gold Ford Focus containing three young men came off Lea Lane and collided with a tree.

A 23-year-old man, one of the passengers, is in Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries including a fractured pelvis and leg injuries.

Sergeant Adam Dawson of Preston Police said: “The families have expressed their gratitude to the support given by the members of the public that were present at the scene of this collision.

“I would like to thank local residents and businesses who provided support to the Emergency Services during the closure of the road and the subsequent investigation.

“A number of witnesses have responded to the appeal for information and the investigation is progressing. We are not looking for any other persons in connection with the collision.

“The injured male taken by Air Ambulance is still receiving treatment at Royal Preston Hospital for his injuries and is in a stable condition.”

Police are still appealing for information about the incident and any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting log 0824 of the 29 June 2015.
