Fire crews called to Frenchwood house fire

Firefighters were called out to a fire in a terraced house near Cardinal Newman College.

They arrived at the house in Tiber Street, Frenchwood, to find a fire in a first floor bedroom.

The fire crew used breathing apparatus and one hosereel to put out the fire and a portable fan to extract the smoke.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called at 1.12pm on Tuesday. Initial reports said someone may have been injured but no one was found inside the building or needed treatment.
