Stratos in Avenham Street could be expanding

A new nightclub could be opening in the upstairs of an already popular city centre bar.

Stratos in Avenham Street has seen its owners apply to convert the upstairs of the building into a nightclub.

Plans for the building, which used to house the French Bistro, show two large dancefloor areas being created with DJ booths and upstairs seating.

Owned by the Italian Orchard group, who operated their restaurant in Broughton, Stratos’ extension would create 26 new jobs in the city centre.

It is proposed the club would open from 8pm to 2am on week nights and until 4am on Saturday and 1am on Sunday.

The full plans are available to view on the city council website.

Anyone wishing to comment can do so there or by emailing quoting reference 06/2015/0473 by Friday 10 July.
