Fans of archaeology are invited to a free event in Preston which promises to bring the past alive.
The Silverdale and Cuerdale Hoards history is to be explored, Viking storytelling and hands-on activities.
Lancashire County Council’s manager at the Museum of Lancashire, Charlotte Steels, said: “We’re delighted to be involved in an initiative which is all about enabling people to get hands-on with history on their own doorstep.
“It is a fabulous chance for everyone to explore the history of where they live, watch experts at work, and experience archaeology for themselves.
“Come along and discover your inner archaeologist. Whether young or old, enthusiast or beginner, there will be something for everyone.”
The event runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday 18 July at the Museum of Lancashire.
