MACs Bar in Preston has been ordered to close for three months.

District Judge Jane Goodwin ruled that the bar had not done enough to control drunken behaviour outside the venue.

Andy MacDonald, the owner who started a petition to keep his own club open, was told that the safety of the public would be at risk if MACs were to remain open.

The popular nightclub has been shut since June 1 when it was handed a 48 hour closure notice by Preston Police.

At a hearing on June 4 the decision was then deferred until a later date to properly access the case.

Many online have expressed their unhappiness that “the best club in Preston” has been closed. Others seem somewhat happy with the news.
