Beauty of Preston to be showcased in Preston Environmental Forum calendar

Photographers in Preston are being asked to take and submit pictures of the environment in the city.

Preston Environmental Forum is putting together its annual calendar showing the “beauty of the city” and wants to feature a different photo for each month of the year.

The cover image in the calendar will win the photographer £100 of vouchers for Wilkinson Camera shop.

The 2015 calendar saw Blog Preston snapper Tony Worrall have his image showing flowers in the foreground of the Harris Museum and Art Gallery was the cover image.

Rules of entry:

Pictures must be in landscape format

They must show beautiful, ecological and environmental aspects of Preston clearly recognisable as being Preston

Represent one of the 12 months of the year. This can include a photo taken in December which could represent January.

Photographs do not have to be taken in 2015

Up to 12 photographs can be submitted per person

Photographs can be submitted to Please name each photograph with your name and the month for which you wish to submit, for example johnsmith-august. If you wish to submit more than one photograph for a single month please also include a number within the photograph name; for example johnsmith-august1, johnsmith-august2.

Please submit low resolution jpegs for the selection stage. Winning photographers will be asked to supply higher resolution jpegs or tiffs.

Some digital enhancement of photographs will be acceptable however photographs demonstrating excessive manipulation will be rejected.

The deadline for entries is Monday 31 August.

Note: Copyright of photographs submitted will remain with the photographer, however PEF will seek permission from winning photographers to use the winning photographs in other PEF promotional materials

There is no charge to enter this competition. Entry is limited to people living, working or studying in the PR postcode.
