Police are hunting a man believed to have kicked-in a door at a student block of flats in the city centre.
CCTV footage shows the man taking a run up and clearly connecting with the door before he and another man make their way into the building.
The door, costing around £400, was badly damaged at the building in Tithebarn Street in the incident on Sunday 3 May around 8.15pm.
Man wanted by police in connection with the incident
Police say the man wanted had walked past the flats and engaged in conversation with a resident in one of the upper floor windows – before he attempted to kick open the door.
Once the door was open he went inside in search of the occupant of the flat before leaving without further incident.
A second man was seen entering the building
PC Paul Goulding of Preston Police said: “We have some really clear CCTV footage of this incident and I would urge the public to watch the footage and pass on any information that could help us to identify the man involved.
“The footage also shows the man with a group of people including a woman with a pram. We are keen to trace any of these witnesses as they may have important information that could help us with our enquiries.”
