An Indian restaurant in Fulwood is planning to expand with a new takeaway on the same road.
AdvertisementThe owners of the Double Tree have bought 150-148 Garstang Road with the intention of turning the former sandwich shop into an Indian takeaway.
What used to be the Withy Trees Pantry – opposite the Shell garage – closed two years ago and sits within the Fulwood Conservation Area.
Mr and Mrs Mubarak and Zuber Ahmed say the new takeaway would operate from 11am to 12midnight every day of the week.
Lancashire Police have raised concerns about an awning planned as part of the work to the building, saying it could “encourage customers to loiter outside whilst consuming food.”
A report to Preston City Council planners states the area near the takeaway has seen 62 assaults reported in the last 12 months.
The full plans are available to view on the city council website.
