The Broughton Printers site in Fulwood has been put up for sale.

Home to the Lancashire Evening Post and the northern arm of media mogul Richard Desmond’s Express Newspapers the site has been listed as a redevelopment opportunity.

The 15,805 square metre site in Oliver’s Place within the North East Preston Employment area could become a retail development or according to Bailey Deakin Hamiltons surveryors “possible residential” use.

Broughton Printers is to cease operation in July 8 after it was announced in late March it was to close with the loss of 91 jobs.

The building has been on the site since 1988.

Land opposite Broughton Printers is due to be redeveloped as a bargain supermarket and gym.
