Shoppers in Preston city centre Pic: Tony Worrall
This time last week the headlines were dominated with how Preston had the unhealthiest high street in the land.
We went on the defensive with a piece in the Guardian outlining how it wasn’t as bad as the study made out – while at the same time recognising there was still much to do in the city.
One thing we feel passionate about is supporting independent traders in the city centre.
They were identified in the report as being important to a vibrant city centre, and we agree.
So we’ve decided to do something about it. A lot of independent businesses struggle with gaining the same exposure as national chains, so we’re offering a chance for one independent trader to put themselves in front of tens of thousands of Prestonians each month on our site.
Using the form below you can enter your business to win three month’s worth of advertising on Blog Preston and then the chance to continue with a heavily discounted rate for the rest of the year We’ll work with you to create the package you want.
If you’d like a chat before you apply just email ed@blogpreston.co.uk or charlotte@blogpreston.co.uk. Closing date for entries is 12noon on Monday 20 April 2015.
We’ll shortlist five independent businesses and put it to a public vote on who should work with us to create their advertising deal. We’ll be taking our rate card and sending the price tumbling for the winner.
Terms and conditions:
1) The business must face onto a road within the city centre
2) It cannot be within a shopping centre
3) It must be independently owned and operated
4) We define town centre as the map below
5) Once the public vote is finished we’ll contact the winner and let you know what can be offered
