The Mayor of Penwortham took part in a bike ride for a number of mayoral charities.

Donations of around £1000 were raised by Councillor Sue Prynn who was joined by a number of cyclists on a 21-mile ride around Preston’s Guild Wheel.

The primarily off-road route goes by the title of National Cycle Route 622 which circles the city of Preston.

Ten cyclists in total took to the cycle lanes with a variety of ages between them, from children to 70-year-old Melvyn Gardner.

They have pledged the donations for charities included Headway Preston and Chorley and Positive Action for PTSD.
