Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery at a Co-Op shop in Ingol on Easter Sunday.

Two men arrived in a Vauxhall Vivaro outside the shop in Granton Walk between 1.30am and 2.20am.

Detectives say they used a crow bar to partially lift the shutters on the store, before forcing open the glass doors and entering the store.

A metal chain was attached to a cash machine within the store and attempted to remove it by attaching the other end of the chain to their van.

Police say the two men left the scene empty handed and abandoned the van.

No arrests have been made and Preston Police are asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting log number 185 of April 5.
