Police tape outside the Co-Op in Ingol

Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Co-Op shop in Ingol.

The incident is understood to have taken place just after 7am on Easter Sunday.

A number of men attempted to steal the cash machine from inside the shop in Tag Lane.

Police taped off the area around the shop as many people arrived to pick up their Sunday paper and Easter Sunday essentials.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lancashire Police on 101.
