A Preston toddler is in a serious condition in hospital after having surgery to remove a brain tumour.
AdvertisementPippa Cole has contracted chemical meningitis and is in a huge amount of pain according to her family.
Prestonians are being asked to help the family fund the medical treatment for the three year old.
Writing on Pippa’s fundraising page her mother Melissa said: “Pippa’s surgery went well and they removed the tumour successfully. She spend four night on HDU and had now been transferred on to a ward. She has now contracted chemical meningitis and is in a huge amount of pain xxx”
The family are fundraising for Pippa to receive Proton Beam Therapy in America.
More than £8,500 towards a target of £10,000 has been raised.
Pippa had a first tumour removed when she was 18 months but after three months it returned.
A statement from the family said: “As a family we are going to fight this again, with all our strength and we will yet again beat this horrendeous disease. Pippa is having to fight extremely hard for her life but she amazes us with her bravery and strength, she always has a smile on her face and tries to enjoy her life as much as she is able to. Trust me she is an inspiration to anyone that meets her.”
