They were refused permission to build homes in September 2013 but updated plans for 22 family homes looks set to be approved. Outline planning permission was granted under appeal to the planning inspector in December 2013.

Seven letters of objection from local residents who say the propoed plans don’t have enough detail about how the development can be accessed on foot.

Planners indicate a new cul-de-sac would be built off an already busy roundabout on Eastway to give access to the development.

Planing officers state: “The proposal provides an appropriate scale, layout and design of development with appropriate landscaping and parking that integrates into its surroundings. The objections received have been taken into account but either relate to matters considered as part of the outline application or are not sufficient to warrant refusal
of this application. The proposal complies with the relevant policies and there are no material considerations which outweigh this finding.”

Councillors meet at the city council planning committee on Monday from 10am to consider the plans.
