Making one of the busiest routes into Preston a dual carriageway is being considered by transport bosses.
AdvertisementThe A582 through South Ribble is a key route in the Preston road network and Lancashire County Council want to widen it.
From Cuerden to Preston city centre would become two lanes either way as well as a section of Flensburg Way towards Longmeanygate in Leyland.
Work has already been done on the Chain House Lane junction and on Golden Way in Penwortham. Roadworks have also begun at the Cuerden roundabout.
A consultation on the proposed A582 widening starts from Monday 2 February with a number of open public meetings and exhibitions.
It includes the chance to see a map of the proposed routes and find out more information.
The first is from 10am to 8pm at Anchor Inn, Croston Road, Lostock Hall
Thursday 5 February from 2pm to 8pm at St John’s Church, Leyland Lane, Leyland
Monday 9 February from 11am to 7pm at St James Church Hall, Lostock Hall
Wednesday 11 February from 10am to 8pm at Penwortham Community Centre, Kingsfold Drive, Penwortham
The consultation runs until Sunday 15 March and an online questionnaire is available on the county council website.
