Prepare for more snow and icy conditions is the message from weather forecasters for Prestonians.
AdvertisementTemperatures due to drop to minus three overnight in Preston and surrounding areas will drop even cooler.
Temperatures until Wednesday will not reach more than three degrees past Wednesday and weather warnings are in place.
The Met Office has a yellow warning of ice and snow in place for the city and Lancashire from 2pm Saturday to 12noon on Sunday 1 February.
The chief forecaster states: “The cold, northerly airflow continues to affect the UK. A low pressure system brings organised areas of sleet and snow to northern and some eastern areas later on Saturday and into Sunday. These areas are covered by a separate yellow warning. In other areas, snow showers will be less frequent, but there remains a risk of some slight accumulations, and icy patches will form on untreated roads. Showers will become gradually less frequent on Sunday morning.”
Disruption on the road network is expected due to icy conditions.
