Police look for man after he exposed himself to children on disused Ribbleton railway line

Disused railway tunnels run under parts of Preston

A lone man standing on a disused railway line exposed himself to two young children according to police.

Preston Police have issued an appeal for information after the incident on Sunday 18 January around 1.30pm.

A 13 year old girl and her six year old sister were walking past an area of the disused Ribbleton railway line when the man is said to have exposed himself.

The two girls left the area immediately and continued to make their way home.

DC Bolton from Preston CID said: “This must have been an extremely frightening incident for the victim who acted quickly and bravely to get herself and her sister away from the man. An investigation to identify the man responsible is underway and I would urge anyone who has any information that could assist us with our enquiries to contact us.”

The man is described as having short dark hair, a skinny face and had stubble. He was of an average build and was wearing a black hoody with dark trousers or jeans.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 0506 of Sunday January 18th.
