One Preston man will be running the extra mile to raise money for charity.

Not content with monthly running events though, Paddy Sheridan-Ruddy also had a tattoo advertising Indian Express done on his leg.

Both these achievements, extraordinary in their own way, are part of his campaign to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Talking to the Lancashire Evening Post, Patrick said: “My dad, Frank, had had a heart attack so I decided start raising money for the British Heart Foundation by running marathons.”

On top of the extra awareness raised as a result of the tattoo, Paddy has also bagged himself free curry for the entire year. That should provide the fire to get him around those running events.

“When I saw that Jamie (of Indian Express) had posted something about another takeaway giving their customer free curries for a year in return for getting their website tattooed on them, I got in touch with him to say I’d do the same in return for donations.

“He didn’t think I was being serious at first but once he realised I was, Jamie said he would pay me per mile and give me free curries for a year.”

With this in mind, we can only wonder if Indian Express will be extending this offer to all customers. Sign us up!
