Volunteers who help sports teams in the city are to be recognised in a special ceremony.

Preston Sports Forum hold the fifth annual volunteer celebration event on Monday 12 January.

A statement from Preston City Council says: “The event will recognise, thank and celebrate all of Preston’s sports volunteers for their hard work and commitment.

“There are no set criteria for nominations, all volunteers will be judged on their own merit. So whether it is for their contribution to administration, coaching or facility maintenance, any of your volunteers can be recognised.”

Nominations have already been made and the event takes place from 6pm to 9pm at a venue to be confirmed.

More details can be found on the city council website.
