A Preston charity is appealing for unwanted Christmas presents to help it raise cash.

The Space Centre, on Pedders Lane, Ashton on Ribble, provides care and respite for adults and children with disability.

Gifts are needed to form part of prizes for raffles, auctions and more events for the Space Centre in the coming months.

Community fundraiser Hilary Holden said: “People do get unwanted gifts at Christmas time so we would ask them to put them to good use by donating to use.

“The donations would make such a difference.

“We have so many stalls and stands throughout the year we don’t want to go with nothing.”

Anyone wanting to donate gifts can visit the centre or call 01772 769 391.

Donations to the centre can also be made by texting SPCE02 £2/£5/£10 to 70070.
