Got ya! One officer nabs one of the goats on the loose

Police on patrol in rural Preston found themselves herding goats on Christmas Day.

They were called to Bolton Road at Riley Green to find three goats on the loose near the Boatyard shortly after 6pm.

Officers herded the goats into a corner, but one police officer left a car door open and a cheeky goat called shotgun – and scrambled into the patrol car.

The goat was removed from the car and the goats are now in temporary accommodation.

Officers have made enquiries at nearby homes and farms but no one is claiming ownership.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 quoting log number 585/251214.
