M6 smash caused by dog on the motorway at Samlesbury

A dog on the loose on the M6 is thought to have caused an accident on the motorway.

North West Motorway Police were called out to reports of a dog on the carriageway near Junction 31 where the M6 joins the A59.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision on the M6 northbound, and two lanes were closed for a short period while the cars were recovered.

There are no thought to be any major injuries from the crash.
