Artists impression of how the new Grimsargh development could look
A village on the outskirts of Preston is preparing a “robust response” to the latest planning application lodged for new homes in the area.
Grimsargh Parish Council is calling on residents to object to a proposal for build 150 new homes on greenfield land off Preston Road.
The area between The Hermitage and Woodfold Farm has a planning application submitted on it by Gladman Homes.
Representatives from Gladman Homes have met with the Parish Council but it seems likely the local council will object to the development.
The Parish Council are calling for the consultation deadline on the plans to be extended as it currently ends on Thursday 1 January 2015, and the deadline has now been extended until Thursday 8 January 2015.
A consultation event was held by Gladman Homes in November and reportedly 15 people turned out to see the plans for the site.
A play area is shown within the Gladman Homes plans
Two new access roads would be built onto Preston Road as part of the proposals, and a central open space and play area retained within the new housing.
The full plans can be viewed on the Preston City Council website.
Anyone wishing to comment can do so via the city council website or by emailing devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference 06/2014/0902 by Thursday 8 January 2015.
