Decision days for the two Cuadrilla fracking applications for land just outside Preston have been announced.
AdvertisementLancashire County Council had asked for extra time to decide whether the firm would be allowed to start the controversial drilling at Roseacre Wood and Preston New Road.
Planning chiefs are set to decide the Preston New Road site from 10am on Wednesday 28 January.
Roseacre Wood is expected to be decided on Thursday 29 January.
Tens of thousands of responses have been received by the county council about the fracking applications, with campaigners holding regular demonstrations in Preston about the potential decision on fracking in the county.
The county council said they have also set aside Friday 30 January as an additional day if the hearings go on longer.
Full reports on what the recommendations for fracking will be are to be published on Wednesday 21 January.
It’s fair to say all eyes will be on Preston as the decision looms in early 2015.
