1. Lou Taylor attacks hotel, goes viral
AdvertisementCharity worker and Roller derby girl Lou Taylor gained a lot of publicity for the negative review she gave to a hostel in Edinburgh over the summer.
In reality, the hostel owner’s hilarious responses are what sent the story into the mainstream. His customer service in handling the situation was a poor as it was wonderful.
The review from Lou, given on Facebook, went on to receive over 1,000 likes and 2,000 comments.

2. Person complains charity shop lowering value of house (or “Lou Taylor’s employer is attacked, goes viral”)
A letter was sent to Integrate Charity Shop back in April that complained the store was selling jeans for £1.50. This, they claimed, was reducing the value of their house by several thousand pounds. Needless to say, most people were a little bit sickened by this claim. Less callous individuals soon rallied around the charity shop and selfishness was hopefully dealt a blow.

3. Joe Garner scores the goal of the year
It’s not very often that a goal from a PNE player trends worldwide. Perhaps the last time would’ve been when David Nugent “scored” for England. Joe Garner’s goal was a strike of such outrageous quality and talent that it somehow felt like it overpowered that fact that Preston failed to reach the Championship that season. A ridiculously good memory for every Preston fan.

4. Bounce by the Ounce video has Jack Whitehall wanting to visit Rumes
Sometimes Preston catches the imagination in a less than positive way. This is probably one of those times. The video, which also featured a Preston dancefloor legend who couldn’t keep his jaw still, was shared far and wide and had Jack Whitehall and Andrew Flintoff dying to head there (perhaps with tongue-in-cheek). In any event, I’ll stick to Warehouse.

5. Girl raises thousands for homeless man who offered her his last £3
The world needs more of this. UCLan student Dominique Harrison-Bentzen was offered £3 by a man to get home on a night out. That man was rough-sleeper Robbie. Tonight (Tuesday, December 16) she will be sleeping rough herself to raise money for the man. At the time of writing, she has raised £12,145 for him. She calls it a “small act of kindness” but this is an incredible achievement and what Preston is all about.
