A new care home to be built in Deepdale looks set to go ahead despite objection from a neighbouring health centre.
AdvertisementThe former Deepdale Day Centre was sold by Lancashire County Council and Ambara Limited want to demolished it and turn into a 90 bedroom residential care home.
Councillors on Preston City Council’s planning committee were due to hear the plans in December but it got moved to the January meeting.
Planning officers say the plans would not have “any unacceptable impacts upon residential amenity, ecology, landscaping and trees, street scene or the Fulwood Conservation Area.”
The Healthcare Centre on Flintoff Way had said the car parking on the care home site would be inadquate.
Planners and highways officials say the allocation of 30 spaces would be enough.
The plans are due to be heard on Monday 12 January from 10am at the Town Hall.
