A car accident in Fulwood caused major tailbacks as Prestonians tried to get to the fireworks display at Preston Grasshoppers on Wednesday evening.

Two cars collided on Eastway near the Ibis roundabout, where the A6 passes over the road around 7pm.

Preston Police attended and two people had minor injuries treated at the scene.

Police worked to clear the vehicles to try and get traffic flowing again – which was very heavy in the area due to the Hoppers fireworks.
