Haslam Park saw many trees felled during the February storms

Haslam Park was hit by storms in October, and a tree branch was used to hit a teenager in the face

Three bikes were stolen during an attack on a group of teenagers in a Preston park.

One 16 year old was hit in the face with a stick fracturing his cheek bone.

The group of men then took four mountain bikes, worth more than £500, in the incident around 9pm on Monday 20 October in Haslam Park.

Preston Police say they have now recovered one of the bikes, a black and grey Carrera mountain bike.

Three other bikes remain outstanding and police are appealing for information to trace them.

DC Corina Barton from Preston CID said, “We are determined to find those responsible for the incident and we are very keen to locate these bikes and hopefully reunite them with their rightful owners.

“If anyone knows where they are or may have seen them, please get in contact with us.”

Details of the stolen items are:
– A dark grey Carrera Vengeance mountain bike, frame number AJ1173992, valued at £250.

– A white GT Carrera mountain bike valued at £250.

– A black men’s bike with ‘APOLLO’ on the frame. The sponge on the seat is exposed as the leather covering has been ripped off.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 1350 of 20 October 2014.
