Customers at a Preston supermarket are being asked to help spread a little Christmas cheer.
AdvertisementShoppers arriving at the Sainsbury’s in Deepdale are being asked to buy one extra gift to donate to children who will wake up on December 25 without one.
In conjunction with Rock FM’s Cash for Kids appeal the Mission Christmas campaign sees thousands of children in Preston and the surrounding area given presents.
Last year more than 8,000 children received a gift ranging from clothing to toiletries, books and games.
Staff launched the Mission Christmas bucket at the front of the store on Friday.
One of the Deepdale staff has reached the national final of the supermarket’s Christmas jumper design competition.
Ruth Martin’s festive jumper is one of eight to be sold across Sainsbury’s nationwide.
