Preston’s flickering Christmas lights are due to shine fully in the next 24 hours.
AdvertisementFishergate and Friargate are currently fully lit after Saturday’s switch on but shoppers have noticed a blackout in the Flag Market.
The Harris Museum is also supposed to be showing some festive patterns but these have not flicked on since Saturday night.
Preston City Council say they are aware of the problem and are looking to have them fixed within the next 24 hours.
A city council spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately, there was an unforeseen issue with some timing clocks not working. These are being replaced on Tuesday and all lights should be fully functioning for Tuesday night.”
The lights were turned on during a ceremony on Saturday night attended by more than 14,000 Prestonians according to organisers.
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis, who plays Rob in the soap, joined X Factor star Jack Walton and 80s band The Christians to flick the switch.
