Investigating officer from British Transport Police PC Chris Dursley said: “The train guard noticed two men hiding in a toilet as she checked tickets on the train which was heading towards Preston from Blackpool North. She called British Transport Police and asked that officers meet the train at Preston to deal with them.

“However, as the train pulled into Preston station the pair pulled the emergency door release and pushed the train guard out of the way, running from the station before officers arrived.

“We believe the men in the images could hold vital information about the incident and ask them or anyone who recognises them to come forward.”
