Melissa Hughes, 16, has not been seen since Friday 7 November.

She left her home on Gamull Lane, Ribbleton, just an hour after being picked up by Lancashire Police in Blackpool.

Also missing is Kieron Jolly, 19, who was last seen at Royal Blackburn Hospital around 8pm on Saturday 8 November. The same time as Melissa left her home.

Police believe the pair could be together in either Preston or Blackpool.

Detective Inspector Jonathan Clegg of Preston Police said: “Melissa’s family are very concerned about her and I would urge anybody who has seen them or who knows where they are to contact us.

“I would also urge Melissa or Kieron themselves, if they see this appeal, to get in touch with us or their familities.”

Melissa is described as white, around 5ft tall, of a slim build with blue eyes and short shoulder length hair which is believed to be blonde. She was last seen wearing a black and white checked shirt, light blue jeans, a dark green hoody with fur around the hood, black pumps and was carrying a blue and brown backpack. She also has a distinctive birth mark below her left eye.

Kieron is described as white, around 5ft 8in, medium build with short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a dark tracksuit top, navy blue jogging bottoms and a grey beanie hat.

Her parents have told the Lancashire Evening Post “we can’t handle her” and called on Lancashire County Council to intervene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
