Grimsargh Green pond is to be enhanced thanks to funding

A volunteer group has received funding towards clearing out a village pond.

The Friends of Grimsargh Green have been given £200 to help improve the ecostructure of the Grimsargh village pond.

A statement from Joyce Chesswell, chairperson of the group, says: “The money will be used to enhance and clear the pond of overgrown vegetation in the pond this will improve the ecostructure around the pond and be beneficial to the biodiversity of wildlife inhabiting the pond.”

Preston Rural county councillor George Wilkins has approved his local member grant to the group.

The work is due to be undertaken by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
