The masterplan for how a 65 hectare site to the south of Preston has gone on display.
AdvertisementCuerden which sits at the junction of the M65 and the A6 has sat dormant for years – but now Lancashire County Council is targeting some of the £434 million City Deal at the site.
It requires significant private investment to create thousands of jobs in a new employment park and build new houses on the land between Bamber Bridge, Leyland and Preston.
South Ribble Borough Council are now consulting on the county council’s masterplan for the site.
Three public events are being held for local residents to view the proposals.
The first is on Monday 24 November at St Ambrose Church Hall, Moss Lane, Leyland from 3pm to 7pm
Thursday 27 November at St Gerard’s Parochial Centre, Lostock Hall from 3pm to 7pm
Tuesday 2 December at St Saviour’s Church Parish Rooms, Bamber Bridge from 3pm to 7pm.
A permanent display is on at the Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland until Friday 19 December. It is open from 8.30am to 5.15pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 8.30am to 4.45pm on Fridays.
Comments on the Cuerden development can be given on the Borough Council website. The full masterplan is available to read on the borough council website.
