The Tipping family home is a festive attraction in Preston
A Preston family who go all out with their Christmas lights are using their big switch on to raise money for charity.
AdvertisementThe Tipping Family on Valentines Meadow in Cottam have become well known for their dazzling Christmas lights display.
Every year the family deck out the house and garden with lights, garden featueres and much more and invite the local community to come and watch the switch on.
Last year the family raised £6,888 for Derian House in Chorley and this year they are looking to repeat it.
On Sunday 30 November the Tippings will flick the switch and are having a fireworks display, hotdogs, drinks, a raffle and more.
Mark and Nicola Tipping are calling on help to source raffle prizes.
They said: “One of the biggest fundraising activities of the evening was the raffle even though it was rather amateurishly organised. This year we are hoping to make even more of a success with the raffle by selling printed tickets beforehand listing prizes etc. to all the groups we are as a family are involved with.
“These will include our children’s school, football teams, Beaver and Cubs groups, our workplaces, family, friends, neighbours etc. We would be very grateful if you would be so kind as to donate a prize to our raffle to help us sell as many tickets as possible.”
The big switch on takes place from 6pm on Sunday.
Anyone wanting to donate a raffle prize can call Mark on 07740737336
