The former doctors surgery on Ashton Street
A former doctors surgery could become a new student home close to the university campus.
Student Dens have applied to convert the former St Walburge’s Medical Practice into a block of student rooms.
The property, on Ashton Street in the shadow of St Walburge’s Church, would become a seven-bedroom student accommodation.
A statement from Mr Philip Harvey, who is behind the scheme, states: “The property is an end of terrace property sited on the corner of Ashton Street and Priory Street in the Ashton area of Preston, close to the University of Central Lancashire campus.
“The building is of red brick masonry, which features stone stills and lintels around the replacement UPVC windows and doors.
“The property consists of a main building, which extends across the frontage and there are a pair of small outriggers to the rear.
“The building internally is in reasonable condition but would require upgrading and renovating to bring the property up to modern expectations for a dwelling house. The property offers a generous amount of potential accommodation.”
