Models will adorn a catwalk erected in the St George’s Shopping Centre

Fashion fans are in for a treat as Preston hosts its biggest ever catwalk event.


Preston Fashion LIVE takes place in the St George’s Shopping Centre and will have four runway shows.

High street brands inc;luding French Connection, Marks and Spencer, Miss Selfridge and Originals plus a host of independent retailers in the city are taking part in the catwalk events.

Models will be heading down the catwealks from 12noon on Friday 24 October.

Marketing manager at St George’s Shopping Centre, Alanna Dent, said: “Preston Fashion LIVE is the result of a number of store managers coming together to showcase the city’s strength of fashion brands.

“It’s something we should be doing for our shoppers and visitors each season and so we hope the success of Preston Fashion LIVE will prompt further events with even more of Preston’s retailers benefiting.”

Sue Clark, store manager at New Look, situated in St George’s, commented: “We’ve seen a host of quality events take place in the last 12 months.

“The recent Student Shop-In event brought about record sales figures so we are proud to be involved once again, this time with the wider retail community.”

And Lorraine Molyneaux, store manager at French Connection, Miller Arcade added: “It’s pleasing to see so many of the high street community getting involved and we really looking forward to displaying our much anticipated Christmas collection to shoppers.”

Smooth Radio’s Jo Lloyd is also going to be in action on the day scouring the city to find the Preston Face of Fashion.

Two winners will be invited to the event and have the chance to be a runway model.

Runway shows take place 12noon to 12.30pm, 12.45pm to 1.15pm, 1.30pm to 2pm and 2.15pm to 2.45pm.
