M65 eastbound Junction 1: Three lorries involved in accident

Three lorries have been involved in a crash on the M65 eastbound.

The motorway was closed eastbound from around 8am on Friday after the incident between Junction 1, M6 and Junction 2, M61.

Two lanes were re-opened at 11.30am and at 1pm the Highways Agency announced all lanes were re-opened and traffic was flowing normally.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to assist,.

Reports initially suggested someone was trapped on the scene, but fire crews did not need to rescue anyone.
