Police were called at around 7.15am on Friday morning following reports of a robbery at McColls Newsagents on Ribbleton Avenue in Preston.
AdvertisementIt is believed that three or four men entered the shop armed with baseball bats and machetes and threatened staff and a security guard who was filling the ATM inside the shop.
The men made off with some cash, at this stage it is not clear how much money the men took.
It is thought that they drove away from the shop in an Audi car.
The security guard sustained a minor cut to his hip but did not require any hospital treatment.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about what happened, or anyone who may have seen an Audi car in the area at the time to get in touch with them on 101 quoting log reference 200 of October 31st.
