Placing a microchip on a dog means if it is lost or stolen it is an effective way of reuniting with its rightful owners.

Each microchip is coded with a unique number that is linked to a computer database.

A warden, vet or RSPCA Inspector can scan the dog to trace the owners.

Dogs for chipping must be 12 weeks old or over and accompanied by an adult.

If you have any questions, call the Dog Warden Service on 01772 906 907.
