A dog has died in a house fire in Ribbleton.
AdvertisementFire crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a semi-detached house on Moorside Avenue.
They arrived around 8.10pm on Wednesday to find a fire in the two-storey home.
Four firefighters searched the property with breathing apparatus and rescued an Alsatian dog.
All the residents of the house were accounted for but sadly the dog died.
Severe damage has been caused by smoke to the contents of the house and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
