A laundrette in Deepdale is set to become a new shop.

The laundry at 174 Deepdale Road is being converted by its owner Mr Patel.

He has lodged plans with Preston City Council to also create a flat on the first floor of the building.

Major work is needed to convert the building into the store which would have 44 square metres of floorspace.

The new store would create one full-time job and two part-time roles.

No opening hours or details of what the shop would be are given in the plans.

The full plans are available to view on the city council website.

Anyone wishing to comment can do so on the council website or by emailing quoting reference 06/2014/0705 by Friday 17 October.
