Cadley Causeway which joins Black Bull Lane is back open

A Fulwood road is back open after a burst water main closed it for around 24 hours.

Cadley Causeway was shut by Lancashire County Council after the water leak on Tuesday morning, but around 7.20am on Wednesday the closure was lifted.

A spokesman for United Utilities said: “All our repair work to the damaged pipe is now complete.

“We still have an excavation on the footpath which will be reinstated.

“Some damage was caused to the road. Motorists and commuters can still us it and we’re currently speaking with the Council to agree the best time for us to go back in and repair the damage. This will take place outside of peak times to avoid any unnecessary disruption to road users.”
