Arrests made after mountain bikes taken during Haslam Park robbery

Police have arrested three youths on suspicion of robbery after an incident in Haslam Park.

A 16-year-old boy has suffered a suspected broken jaw after being hit by a tree branch during the robbery of his bike.

Six teenagers approached another group of teenagers on Monday evening at the park off Blackpool Road in Ashton on Ribble.

One of the group had a white Staffordshire bull terrior.

Four mountain bikes were taken during the incident.

Three youths aged 13,15 and 16 have been arrested in connection with the robbery.

Detective Inspector Keith Lee, Preston Police, said: “Due to the actions of the parents of the youths who were victims, we managed to make swift arrests in connection with the robbery.

“Officers are currently checking CCTV from the local area to help identify other people who are responsible.”
